K-Startup Grand Challenge Programme

Filmplace has yet again achieved another milestone – we are in the Top 30 companies in KSGC 2020 that is selected by the Korean Government (broadcast live on Korean TV)! Heading the team is Lincoln Lin, our CEO, and Isaac Cheong, his strategic partner.

The KSGC is an inbound programme designed to attract promising foreign startups to Korea within the “Global Accelerating Activation Program” under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups of the Republic of Korea.

The objective is to support foreign startups to enter Korean and international markets and to promote Korea as the global leading startup business hub. The participating teams will establish corporations in Korea and hire Koreans with the objective to run businesses in Korea, as well as create new businesses within Korea and expand to the overseas market, and consequently contribute to the globalization of the Korean startup ecosystem.

This year, a total of 2,648 teams applied for this challenge. Filmplace was one of the 60 teams selected to take part in the acceleration programme. After an intense 3 and a half months, we emerged as Top 30. However, the fun has just begun – we will be moving on to phase 2 of the challenge next year, in the month of February 2021. May the force be with us!
