Room2F is a multi-use space that is a hybrid between a living room, community hub and event space. You can read, work, relax, play games, hold meetings or talks, organise a potluck session, host events, run workshops and more. It’s an interesting concept that is a rare find inside a shopping mall!
The space comes with facilities including projection and audio equipment, coffee & tea options, a library of more than 400 magazines & books, board games, retro arcade video games, puzzles & colouring templates and a karaoke system. It is a perfect venue as it already provides great props for your films!
Room2f caters to both corporate and private events at affordable rates. They have hosted companies like Carousell, Grab, Deliveroo, Innisfree, P&G, the National Arts Council, Mediacorp, and more. It is a reputable and well-known event space to many, and it holds a wide range of events such as birthdays, weddings, conferences, workshops and music shows. If the following are scripted in your films, room2f can be your go to filming location as well!
Partnerships in Room2f
The space also houses a coffee bar by Sanity Coffee. The coffee bar is opened by a local singer-songwriter Chen Diya, currently a member of a Mandopop-duo The Freshman 插班生 as well as the runner-up for Project SuperStar Season 2 in 2007.
During the current rough times of COVID-19, where it has especially affected F&B businesses, Sanity Coffee has been giving back to the medical community and also the frontline workers that have been working around the clock under the #SanityHugsInACup initiative. They have been delivering coffee to healthcare workers to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID), KK’s Women and Children’s Hospital, as well as Singapore General Hospital. This was reported on TODAY online.
Playground studio is a recording studio located in room2f as well. They do all sorts of music projects, recording, music composition and arranging, sound design and editing and they also provide music courses and workshops! Do check it out especially if you are musically inclined!
Coming from a design and music background respectively, Edgar and Florence deeply believe in supporting local music and the arts, having co-organised and hosted music performances, music workshops, art and craft workshops, open mic sessions and mentorship sessions.
To sum up
Room2f is definitely a flexible space to film in, whether it’s for café scenes, interviews, press conferences, or even performance concert settings. It’s also a great place to hang out with friends, do some work or just to relax, but it would only be open to the public after the COVID period.
